Add content your assistant will learn from. You can use one type at a time per assistant: upload files, add URLs, or create FAQs.
Options
- Upload files — Documents (PDF, DOCX, etc.) your assistant can learn from.
- Add URLs — Import knowledge from any public webpage.
- Add FAQs — Teach your assistant with structured Q&A.
Processing time
After you upload documents or add knowledge sources, we process them in the background. This process:
- Usually completes within 5 minutes
- Sends you a notification when done
- May take longer for large files or many sources
Note:
Until processing is complete, your assistant may not have full access to the new content. You can continue editing your assistant while processing runs.
Best practices
- Use clear, well-structured content
- Avoid very large files; consider splitting into smaller documents
- For URLs, ensure the page is publicly accessible
